it's been awhile.
It certainly has been awhile since I've written in this space. Truthfully, I've been pretty busy at work and the NPO I'm the board of: I Grow Chicago. I spend so much time during the week on my computer that often when the weekend rolls around, I need a break.
That being said, I do miss this little space on the internet that is solely mine -- and, I want to get back to some more personal writing. I have a few ideas of topics -- it's taken me some time to figure out where this space is headed, and what matters most to me. I'm not sure that I'm exactly there, yet, but I believe I'm headed in the right direction.
Connor and I have been incredibly busy lately. I want to make an effort to stop using that as my go-to phrase when someone says how are you? The truth is, that our lives are more fulfilling than they likely ever have been, but it does mean that we are often more go, go, go than we used to be.
A snapshot of what we've been up to since I last wrote...
Connor accepted a promotion at his job, and I am so proud of him. I constantly remind him how our lives have changed for the better since he started working at Braintree. He event recently won an award, and my heart swelled with so much pride.
We both became more dedicated to our NPO work by accepting positions on the board of I Grow Chicago. I am proud that this is something we are both dedicated to together as it was a main reason that I decided to stop working for myself. We both worked on a national tshirt campaign called Put the Guns Down.
We attended the March for Our Lives.
We received our wedding highlight video, and words cannot express how grateful I am that we have this memory for the rest of our lives.
We started our summer garden, and it brings us both quite a bit of joy. I love finding hobbies that we can do together; I think it's really important in a marriage.
